Carlos & Marielle Pabon
Carlos and Marielle live outside Baltimore, MD where they own That's Dancing Ballroom & Dancesport Center. They keep busy with their four young children (Giada, Giovani, Giorgio, and Giselle).
In addition to the Pennsylvania Dancesport Challenge, they are the organizers of the Northcoast Dancesport Classic (Cleveland, OH), Baltimore Dancesport Challenge (Linthicum, MD), and the Yuletide Ball (Bethesda, MD).

Carlos began his dancing career in ballet and jazz. He performed with several ballet companies and trained with the renowned Phila-Danco before moving into Ballroom and Latin dance. In the years that followed, he become a top Pro-Am teacher and competing professionally, earning many titles in the Rhythm and Latin categories. He began his teaching career with Arthur Murray in 1982 where he received the majority of his ballroom training. He and his partner Lynn Sevick were USDC Open Rhythm Rising Star Champions and Open Finalists in 1989. He was the 1992 United States Rising Star Latin Champion with two different partners, earning titles at the Gator Classic, Yuletide Ball Championships, Rocky Mountain Challenge, Cam-Am Dancesport Gala, Sarasota Dancesport Spectacular, and Northcoast Ballroom Classic and the Open International Latin Champion of the Sunshine State Championships.
He was a member of the American Dance Montage Ballroom Theater Company, choreographed by Frank Regan, which traveled around the United States performing for various events.
In 1992 he opened a Studio in the Baltimore Washington Metropolitan area called That’s Dancing Ballroom & Dancesport Center. Carlos operated a Fred Astaire franchise until 1996 when he decided to independently operate his business. He continues to run a successful Ballroom & Latin Studio with focuses on both American and International Styles. His students range from social to competition level. Carlos is a National Judge with the NDCA, certified with his Fellowship in all dance styles with the North American Dance Teachers Association. He also hold his Licentiate with the I.S.T.D. He is an Examiner for both NADTA and DVIDA.
Marielle Pabon is also the organizer of the NDCA sanctioned one-day competition, the Baltimore Dancesport Challenge. She graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelors of Science in Business/Economics and hold a Minor in Archaeology. Marielle travels around the country working as a competition Registrar. She and her husband perform together at events inside and outside of their Studio.
